Fratboy reunion

Proof that I left Westminster...

(Thursday evening, April 5):  I venture out of Westminster for the first time today and head to Chelsea to meet a few friends from Tufts for dinner.  These particular gentlemen were my pledges in the year of our Lord 2001 when I was in charge of such things.  They are both living in London and doing quite well.  My heart swells with pride.

Proof that I at least attempted to get on the tube
I had every intention of taking the Tube to Chelsea, and left with a loaded oyster (the brit term for a subway pass.  Not nearly as cool as say, the Charlie Card, but then again...their sign kicks our ass) and an hour to cover 3 miles.  I didn't make it and got in a cab.  Cabs are outrageously expensive, even with the weak performance of the pound against the dollar, so I need to get better at this.

We had dinner at this pretty funky place in Chelsea called Buona Sera at The Jam.  This picture doesn't really do it justice, but Korval and Shelton turned my considerable height advantage against me by picking a restaurant where you dine in tree houses.

These little tables were about 5 steps off the ground.  The waitress displayed considerable dexterity in serving us a fine Italian meal.  An ex-Pat friend has been telling me that London gets a bad rap in terms of food, and she's starting to make me a believer.
