Did you guess Madrid's most famous Flamenco theater? You know me so well. Here's the musical accompaniment
I have to say, I really enjoyed it The theater was small and dark with old school wooden tables. You were pretty close to your neighbors but not too close. And the bartender chatted with and got drinks for the waitresses for 20 minutes before telling me that I had to wait for my waitress. Thanks, Paco.
.The guitar playing was awesome. They busted a few sick solos. There were 3 really intense Spanish guys who did some pretty bad ass rhytmic clapping. It was clearly a well rehearsed performance, but you got the feeling that there is some ad lib work going on. Its pretty emotional and intense, so I got the feeling they go with the flow a bit.
The women dancers were phenomenal. The one here must be rather famous, as we saw her posters at a few other places in the city.
And then this peacock came out and crushed the building:
He was at the same time the most macho, and most feminine man I'd ever seen. He was like a cross between Ross Gordon and Arturo Kassel, but in a good way. It was something that in a million years I'd never have thought I'd enjoy it as much as I did. And the next time I'm in Spain on Easter Sunday, I'd absolutely check it out again
