April 19, 2012 (or as the Europeans say, 19 April, 2012)
Just landed in Dublin and found my way to the office. As I'm wont to do, I found I had booked my hotel for th wrong week, so I was unable to check in. They were able to get me a room for tonight though. And they let me shower and change in their locker room. Off to a great start.
Ryan Air: Like it. They keep it moving. Security is pretty lax compared to TSA, and we rolled through. And they allow only very, very small carry-on, so boarding is very fast. I only brought a backpack (stuffed with 2 days of clothes and a laptop). They hit you with heavy bag check fees. They also charge you 40 pounds if you don't check in online, and that's like 19 bucks.
I'm about to go into training, but first impression....Pittsburgh. This feels like Pittsburgh to me. The river seems to split the city into pieces (I'm not sure what river yet...it may be a Quay, and I'm not sure what that means early...will get back to you). The architecture is old and interesting, with modern buildings mixed in. Everyone is white and has an accent. So until I get out of training, we're going with Pittsburgh.
I read you can do a 'Literary Pub Crawl' and I don't see how I can't do that, so should be some interesting entries.
Till then
